Last night Leigh Margaret, Michael, and I were looking for a place to go out to dinner and, after walking around in the rainy weather, noticing the limited options because of Chuseok and it being Sunday evening, each with our own umbrellas in tow, we decided to venture into a restaurant near the school. It's a Korean bar-b-q place.
This is the way it works:
You order whatever kind of meet you want - in this case, pork or beef - and they bring it out to you, raw. You have a flame in the middle of your table and a, either a grill or a large slab of glass on top of it. Then, you simply cook your own meat. They provide you with onion, garlic, lettuce, bean sprouts (the latter are in some sort of delicious sauce), kimchi, and sauce(s). It was so good.
After dinner, we sat around and talked for a while. When we were ready to leave, we stood up, and the guy working there stopped us and asked if he could take our picture. So we sat back down, and he took our picture, printed out four copies and asked us to sign one of them. We misunderstood and signed them all but three were for us and one was for him to hang on the wall in the restaurant.
So, basically, we are famous here now. :)
Love your story. These is remind me with Carter's when we still live in Jakarta.
ReplyDeleteSay hi to Michael. Have fun there!
